Upon the creation of your participant portal and submission of the application, you will receive an email with a link to a secure portal where you can begin uploading your documents.
All of your documents will need to uploaded by the last day of the open application period. In order to process your application in a timely manner, we recommend submitting your documents within a week of submitting your application.
The application process depends on how quickly you provide all required information. Upon uploading all the necessary documents, the onboarding process takes 4-6 weeks.
You will hear from us within two-three business days of submitting documents. Our staff will contact you if any additional documents or clarification are needed.

To ensure successful training, TSI scores of Math 960 and Reading 950 are required for college readiness. You will be asked for TSI scores if you are not currently enrolled in a program or if your GPA does not meet the minimum requirements for your training program application.
Capital IDEA Houston does not pay for out of district fees, however, you may still be eligible for sponsorship.

Not only do we help pay for tuition towards college degree or short-term training programs, but we also provide wrap-around services, such as a Career Navigator, tutoring, and case management. Furthermore, we provide connections to resources to overcome challenges to achieving academic success.
On a case-by-case basis, financial assistance is provided to individuals who have obtained a degree or certification but face challenges in securing employment. Eligibility requires demonstrating failed attempts at finding work in their field, supported by relevant documentation. We understand that degrees/certifications don't guarantee job placement and aim to support those who have made genuine efforts. Each applicant's circumstances and job search evidence are carefully evaluated. It's important to note that assistance is not guaranteed due to varying funds and eligibility criteria.
